This Privacy Policy describes how VideoStreamPerf (“the App”), a macOS application for video stream performance testing and analysis, handles information. It is intended to meet common expectations for the Apple App Store and applicable privacy guidelines.
1. Summary
The App is designed to perform measurements and reporting on your Mac. We do not use the App to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not collect personal data through the App for sale to data brokers. Performance and test data you generate stay under your control on your device unless you choose to export or share files yourself.
2. Data we collect
The App does not collect the categories of data that Apple lists for “Data Linked to You” or “Data Used to Track You” in the way a typical analytics or ad SDK would. Our App Store privacy declarations (Privacy Nutrition Labels and, where applicable, Privacy Manifest) state that we do not declare user data collection types for tracking or sale.
3. Data processed on your device
To provide video stream performance testing, the App may process on your Mac information such as frame timing, latency, jitter, scores, and related metrics derived from the streams and scenarios you configure. This processing is performed locally to show charts, statistics, and optional exports (for example PDF or CSV) that you initiate. We do not receive this content on our servers through the App because the App does not transmit it to us by design.
4. Tracking
We do not use the App to track you. We do not use advertising identifiers in the App for cross-app or cross-site tracking, and we do not combine your activity in the App with third-party advertising profiles.
5. Apple frameworks and system APIs
The App uses Apple-provided system capabilities needed for macOS performance work. Our Privacy Manifest documents use of restricted APIs where required by Apple—for example, access related to system boot timing for measuring elapsed time between events during testing (declared reason consistent with Apple’s documentation, e.g. measurement of intervals while the App is in use). Such use is not for identifying you personally.
6. Third parties
- Apple: Distribution, updates, crash or diagnostic data, and App Store processes are subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy and your device settings.
- Your choices: If you email files or use other services outside the App, those services have their own policies.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
8. Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because the App does not operate a user account or cloud back end for app data as described above, most information exists only on your device or in files you export. You may manage files on your Mac and use App Store support channels for account-related requests that involve Apple.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the App or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. Material changes may also be noted through the App Store or in-app notices where appropriate.
